Three-Year Anniversary with icespark

Today is my three-year anniversary with icespark. Things between us have been crazy up and down over the past three years, but this year they seem to have settled down, and we’re both rather happy. We’ve actually been in relationship counseling for the past few months, and an impartial third party has helped a lot in allowing us to get past roadblocks that were keeping us from getting over past problems and looking forward to the future.

To celebrate our anniversary together, we spent a long, relaxing weekend together, doing a lot of nothing and enjoying every moment. On Friday we went to dinner at Outback, and then we were planning to go see 28 Weeks Later. Nothing says romance like steak and zombies! Unfortunately, by the time we were done eating, it was too late to catch the movie, so instead we went back to icespark’s and watched Battlestar Galactica instead. Steak and Cylons! Not quite the same, but still a nice night.

Saturday after I got off work icespark and I had dinner again and finally got to see 28 Weeks Later. I was worried that it wouldn't be as good as the first one, but I enjoyed myself, even though the theatre was full of annoyingly disruptive teenagers causing such a ruckus that eventually they were told my management to shut up or leave.

Sunday icespark and I enjoyed sleeping freaky late, and then finally dragged our lazy asses out to see Spider-Man 3. This time the theatre was full of kids -- icespark's theory that they'd all be home with their moms celebrating Mother's Day was apparently wrong. Again, tho, I enjoyed the movie anyway, as well as a nice day off with icespark.

Monday I had the day off, so I tried to be productive, and did make it to the dentist and got my oil changed. I made some phone calls, but while collecting laundry I tripped over a step stool and bashed my head into the wall, so I decided to take a break and watch The Venture Bros. until I felt a little better. When icespark got off work, I went to her house and she made a very yummy dinner. I MUXed and we watched HEROES, and then snuggled and went to bed.

Tonight we're getting together to celebrate our actual anniversary, and I'm not sure what exactly we'll wind up doing, but it should be fun. We're not sick of each other yet, which is a good sign. *grin* I had something in mind, but work has been so stressful I may want something a little more low key. In any case, I'm happy that icespark and I have made it this far, and I look forward to the next three years.

Did you just post this?
Hmm... thought I'd already responded to this once. Oh, that's right -- the Google Bar ate the pop-up that would have posted it.

I started the post on Tuesday, but ran out of time and made the notes private until I finished the post on Wednesday. Hence the belated appearance. I should have marked it "Unlocked" or something. =^)

And, yes. Pretty much since the counseling started we've admitted that the break-up just didn't work out. =^)

steak and Spidey/Doc Ock
Ah, that's right. The watching of Spider-Man 2 so we could go see Spider-Man 3 on Sunday...

And, yes, we seem to be doing well, and stronger than before. Your Taboo-Fu seems to be strong as well!

Re: steak and Spidey/Doc Ock
hee! No! No drama! *chuckle*

And, yes... working together, lemur_lady and you are a Taboo-winning machine!

And, how appropriate! Next they'll be some Monica Lewinsky news as well...
