Monday after work I went over to icespark’s to MUX. She made her heavenly cheesesteak pasta. On the MUX, our new Motormaster had a throw-down in the training room with Onslaught, which was fun to watch. My character Valour is next, whenever I get a chance to get on the MUX next. I’m also finally getting my character Mel back to California after her extended stay at the Pit.
Tuesday night after work I went to visit my friend Jeki. I haven’t seen her since March, so it was good to have an opportunity to hang out with her. She’s a single mom now, so my late schedule actually works since by the time I get off work her kids are in bed. Unfortunately, she has to get up at 6 AM, so we didn’t have a lot of time to hang out before she had to go to sleep.
Wednesday morning I woke up early, since Jeki’s room fills with light from the sun. It wasn’t blinding, but it was definitely too bright to stay asleep. After work I needed to stay home to do laundry and just be in my apartment. I told lildomino she could come over if she wanted to keep me company. We hung out until lildomino fell asleep, and then I washed clothes and answered email before joining her.
Thursday after work mishiell cooked me dinner: asparagus, mushrooms, potatoes, and sausage. She’d borrowed the Family Guy Star Wars special, so we hung out at her apartment and watched that while we ate. It was a little difficult to concentrate since mishiell was in pigtails and a super-short skirt, but somehow I managed. It’s a rough life.
Friday icespark and I had plans to go out, but since she wasn’t feeling well we stayed in and played the new Marvel PlayStation 2 game that drakefenwick gave me for my birthday. (I need to buy a second controller so icespark and I can play together.) I hung out with icespark for a few hours, and then drove to Illinois to spend the weekend with cassiopia.
Saturday when we got up cassiopia and I had yummy bagel sammiches for breakfast before finally getting me caught up on this season’s Battlestar Galactica. We went to Taste of Champaign for a bit, but it was way too crowded, so we skipped out and had burgers instead. After that we went skating, and cassiopia talked to the rink owner about his support for helping her start a derby league. It was a lot of fun.
Sunday we had breakfast at the Original Pancake House and then went to the comic store, where cassiopia picked up Zombie Fluxx. We went back to cassiopia’s for snuggles and zombies before running back out to get her roommate post-Grove refreshment. We turned on the TV to watch Dexter, but got sucked into the end of Ghost Busters and an episode of I Love the New Millennium. We did watch the first two episodes of the first season of Dexter, and I may be hooked.
It was great to see cassiopia this weekend, and it’s cool that she’s getting a lot of local and long-distance support for trying to get together people in Champaign-Urbana who are interested in roller derby. Now we just have to get her to an actual bout. B^D With luck we can drag her to Bloomington or Indy for a derby bout soon.
"Some see the move as an attempt to preserve traditional values, while others see it as a cynical ploy to ensure that Vice President Cheney will never have to pay for his gay daughter's wedding."
